Belts

”Nature provides the inspiration for my work and conservation of our environment is a recurring theme. Highlighting the surrounding natural beauty gives us a greater appreciation of our responsibilities as guardians of the land.

Each design in this collection is influenced by a fusion of Eastern and Western art. Japanese woodcuts, gold leaf lacquer ware, kimonos, Van Gogh and Monet’s paintings have all been an inspiration.”

Each range is comprised of interchangeable belt buckles. The belts are made in New Zealand using Italian leather and the buckles are also sold separately. To maintain the beauty of your wearable piece of art keep it inside the bag provided when not wearing it and do not leave in the sun”

Peacock Collection

The image for this series comes from a beautiful peacock. According to the Chinese, the peacock symbolises dignity, elegance and beauty and anyone who wears the peacock feather has a significant fortune awaiting them.

Tui Collection

I live close to a wildlife sanctuary which has created a safe haven for New Zealand’s indigenous birds. My garden is filled with Tuis that love to perch on the kowhai tree. These pieces have also been influenced by gold leaf lacquer-ware.

Manuka Collection

The Manuka tree featuring in this design no longer exists as the prevailing winds finally won the battle. It is an image that represents strength, fragility and natures forces. The photograph was taken in Raglan, a coastal town in the North Island of New Zealand

Autumn Collection

Drive into Arrowtown, former gold mining village in the Lakes District of Otago (NZ), and you will be greeted with red, yellow and orange rowan berries which fill the hillside with vibrant colour. According to European mythology, rowan berries were thought to be a magical tree and protection against malevolent beings.
